At the MCG, Hawthorn and Geelong played out another thriller with Geelong hanging on by the barest of margins, while Sydney held off North Melbourne to stay in the top eight.

Collingwood survived an emotion charged Port Adelaide to win by 26-points at Aami Stadium. The Power got off to a blistering start but the Magpies eventually wore them down to win the match.
Mark Williams, Port’s coach of the last eleven seasons was farewelled by the home crowd when it was announced earlier in the day it would be his last game in charge.
