Verbal and written communication is one of the greatest assets a prospective employee can possess as many positions require the ability to interact with others verbally and in writing. Quality reporting can have very positive impacts on entertainment mediums, particularly movies.

The Job of the Critic

Much of movie critiquing is based on the reporter’s own observation of the film and their knowledge of the film industry. For example, an effective movie critic understands the filmmaking process and can knowledgeably critique the shooting style, angles, etc that the average moviegoer is probably not greatly knowledgeable of. Does this matter when critiquing a film? To the average moviegoer, this probably does not matter or affect the quality of the film. However, to the trained eye, this makes a great difference in the quality of the film as a whole.
