HOSPITAL PROFILE
Kerry General Hospital is the second largest of the Health Service Executive – Southern Area’s seven acute hospitals. The hospital provides acute general hospital services to the population of Co. Kerry (139,616) and additionally to a proportion of the populations of West Limerick and North Cork.

The hospital has 274 acute general beds; additionally there are 50 Acute Psychiatric beds. A 46-bed geriatric unit serving the Tralee catchment area is also located in the hospital. 2-beds are allocated to respite care.

The Annual Budget of Kerry General Hospital is approximately 70.7 million euro . The hospital treats over 20,000 inpatients per annum and approximately 41,000 patients attend the Outpatients Department annually. Accident & Emergency Department attendances are approximately 34,346 annually.

Executive Management Board

An Executive Management Board for Kerry General Hospital has been established to ensure that Kerry General Hospital is managed in an efficient and effective manner enabling it to provide the highest quality care to the public.

The Objectives of the EMB are as follows:-

 Provide direction and leadership to Kerry General Hospital in the attainment of its goals, consistent with the policies of the Health Service Executive.

 Manage and develop Kerry General Hospital by –

 Approving and implementing the Service Plan for Kerry General Hospital.
 Developing and implementing the appropriate strategies and policies for Kerry General Hospital.

 Account for the utilisation of resources and the provision of an efficient and effective quality service, as agreed in Kerry General Hospital annual service plan.

The Executive Management Board consists of the following members:
